AppleがUnversalを買おうとしている、というスクープが金曜から話題になっている。

噂されている買収金額は$5-6B(6-7千億円）で、5％を切る(広義の）PCシェアしかないAppleが$4.4Ｂのキャッシュを持っているのは、確かにびっくり。しかし、Microsoftの$40B(5兆円）の現金資産とは比ぶべくもないが。

Copy right問題で、なかなか音楽のネット配信が進まなかったが、Appleが世界の音楽のトップシェアを持つUniversalを買収すれば、それが大きく前進するだろう、ということ。でも、get on the trainと言われても、電車に乗ることのないベイエリアの生活では実感がわかないんだが・・・・。

ちなみに音楽ダウンロード市場はJupiter Researchによれば30-50万人のsubscriberで5千万ドル規模しかないという。Apple-Universal Dealで電車でＧｏ！となったら、「超」がつく画期的なできごとであります。
