Siebelが、dinosaur complexというお茶目なコードネームで新製品を開発した、という話かと思ってしまった。冗談のわからなそうな人だと思っていたら、結構キッチュな人だったんだTom Siebelって、、、、と思っていたらそうではなくて

Tom Siebel, chief executive of software maker Siebel Systems, and his wife (donated) $2 million to a Montana natural history museum to expand its dinosaur exhibit.

仇敵salesforce.comのCEOは、すかさずこんなコメントを。

“Perhaps they will also be able to display some of their dinosaur client/server software there as well?” said Salesforce.com Chief Executive Marc Benioff.

アメリカの会社同士のライバル意識って、表面に出てくるので笑える。昔Kimberly ClarkとProcter Gamble（どちらも紙の会社ですね）の戦い、という記事で、どちらかの会社の社長が「毎朝鏡を見て、『どうやってあの会社を叩き潰そうか』と真剣に考える。うちの社員全員にそういう風に思って欲しい。」と真剣に語っていたが、これもおかしかった。歯を磨く手に力が入って口が血だらけになりそうだ。
